Safer Consumption Supplies

We use a harm reduction approach to reduce the risks associated with substance use.
Harm reduction supplies (safer sex and safer drug use equipment) are provided from both the Calgary and Medicine Hat locations at no charge to clients and community members. Distribution of sterile supplies is an effective and evidence based practice to reduce transmission of HIV, hepatitis C, and other sexually transmitted and blood borne infections (STBBIs). Contact us or come to our office for more information or to access supplies. SafeLink Alberta also offers a peer outreach program in Medicine Hat for people who currently or previously use substances to support other people who use substances. This program is intended to reduce risks of HIV/hepatitis C/STBBI transmission through substance use by sharing information about safer substance use practices and distributing harm reduction supplies.
