Health Canada has approved Canadian Blood Services’ submission to eliminate the three-month donor deferral period for the 2SGBTQ+ community. Screening for blood donations will now be based on sexual behaviour for all donors, regardless of sexual and gender identity. SafeLink Alberta recognizes this historical milestone as an achievement for all members of the 2SGBTQ+ community in the movement towards equality and justice for all.
