Everyone is aware that good hygiene is very important to one’s overall health and wellness and folks living under extreme hardship and difficulty are often unable to purchase the items they most often need to maintain health and hygiene.
We are always looking for donated items of soap, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, feminine pads, and tampons that are often an expense many of our clients find challenging to afford.
We are sharing with you an example of how one of our community members supporting our agency and programs provides many of these items. Paul, a flight attendant travels often which means a lot of overnight stays in hotels as part of their work. Paul noted that the little shampoo, conditioner, moisturiser, and soaps often come back with them but are rarely used so they decided to donate them to someone who can use them.
Now, about once every month or two we receive a bag full of these items that we can distribute to some of our most marginalised and often unhoused clients to help maintain their hygiene and health in a supportive and dignified way.
How can you help?
Donate travel size shampoos, deodorants, toothpaste etc. Feminine supplies are always in high demand and appreciated more than you could ever imagine by the people we support and serve to stay healthy and well.
You can drop donations off at our offices in Calgary or Medicine Hat, call us to come and pick them up, or consider making a cash donation or registering as one of our monthly donors to provide the funds required to purchase items most often needed and hard to attain.
