HIV Testing Day taking place on June 27

On June 27, 2019, #knowyourstatus on National HIV Testing Day. The event is nationally organized by the Canadian AIDS Society. It is locally organized by HIV Community Link in partnership with the Centre for Sexuality, Safeworks, SORce, Alberta Health Services Sexual and Reproductive Health – Calgary and The Alex.

Visit one of the following locations in Calgary or Southeastern Alberta to receive a free HIV test:

In Calgary:

RAPID TESTING (60 SECONDS):

HIV Community Link (1603 10 Ave SW): 12 to 3pm
Centre for Sexuality (1509 Centre St S #700): 3 to 7:30pm
SORCe Calgary (316 7 Ave SE): 9 to 11am

STANDARD TESTING:

The Alex Youth Health Centre (#104, 2840 2 Ave SE Calgary): 12 to 6pm
STI Clinic, Sheldon M. Chumir (1213 4 Street SW, 5th Floor): 10am to 3pm
Sexual and Reproductive Health Clinics:

  • East Calgary Health Centre: 12:30-5pm
  • Sheldon M. Chumir Health Centre: 1 to 5:15pm
  • Sunridge Professional Building: 1 to 5:15pm
In Brooks:

Long Term Care Conference Room, access from 4th Ave East into the Brooks Health Centre, follow the signs.
Public Parking is available off 4th Ave – turn at the Home Care entrance.
Hours: 11am to 4:30 pm

In Medicine Hat:

SAFELINK – Medicine Hat Care Centre (641 4 Street SE, Medicine Hat): 11am -5:30 pm

Sexual and Reproductive Health Clinic (2948 Dunmore Road SE, Medicine Hat): 8am to 4:30pm (closed 12-1pm)

A small amount of blood will be drawn from your arm for HIV testing. Tests performed at clinics may take 48 hours or longer to get the result.
